Placenta Encapsulation?

Hi! Has anyone here (or know someone who had) encapsulated their placenta? I’m very interested in it, but in search of others’ experience. Thanks in advance!❤️

My best friend did and I didn’t. She had pretty bad PP depression. So I was glad I didn’t spend the money. I was worried about cleanliness and quality since it’s not at all regulated. I could just picture two placentas sitting side by side on a dehydrator ... I know you should trust the person who is doing it more than that, but I couldn’t go through with it. I was lucky not to have any PP depression despite having it during pregnancy.

I did it! No postpartum depression and I have a history of depression. I don’t know if it is helping but it’s certainly not hurting.

I was going to do this but then I read a couple articles on how some women have contracted TB by doing this and I just didn’t think it was worth the risk.

I did, and I trusted my midwife’s practice and cleanliness. It definitely helped my mood PP, my husband would always joke that he could tell it was time for my placenta pill 😉

I did! Only 3 weeks in but I feel amazing and so happy. No baby blues and last time I had them the whole first month. Hoping they help with PPA, had that too around month 4-5.

I encapsulated mine, I have not started taking them yet but I will see if they make an impact pn the pp anxiety that I've been having!

We talked about this at my last antenatal class.  There is no “proof” that it works but my midwives said they do notice a difference in mental health and recovery of the women who do it.  I would try it if I had the money but money is very tight after paying the birth center expenses so it’s out for me.  You just have to make very sure that you choose someone with a good reputation for doing it so you don’t end up ingesting under dehydrated placenta and getting sick from it.
