We are TTC our first and was wondering how temping worked and have any of you been successful in conceiving by temping and tracking ovulation? Advice

Answer

Temping won’t tell you when you ovulate it just confirms that you did. Basically you need a special basal body thermometer. You take your temp at the same time every morning before you ever even get out of bed, so keep it on your nightstand. Make sure you’re waking at same time every day. If you temp and track daily, once you ovulate you’ll notice a thermal shift. Your temp will rise after ovulation and stay that way. If you’re pregnant it will stay elevated, if not it drops when you get your period. 
These are 2 examples from last year. One where I didn’t conceive and the other when I conceived my daughter
