Joining a gym 🤷🏻‍♀️ help ?

Hey kinda embarrassing but how do I join a gym? I am a stay at home mom me an my husband have a joint bank account so he provides the money but I would love to join a gym how can I do that if I am not working? I have money to pay every month on time as well so there wouldn’t be any worries of a skipped payment. What sorts of things am I looking at here before I join . Thanks for the help ❤️

You go to your local gym to discuss what their plans are. If you like one, they can accept cash, check or credit card. They most likely can charge your credit card monthly for you. I do not suggest starting with a gym membership until you've went a few months and know you're going to stick with it.

Ring up or email a local gym, or head in in person. You will likely have to pay a sign up fee, fill out a form and provide bank details and general medical information. There may be different levels of membership depending on the facilities the gym offers. You may be able to pay upfront, or pay using direct debit. Ask about cancellation fees, because that's how a lot of places make extra money. Good luck!

Payment depends on the facility. Some require a credit card and some require a bank account. So that would be a question for the facility before you join. Most places have a free trial or day pass options. Use those and get a feel of the place before you join. Make sure you understand the membership cancellation process as well. Some places you sign up for a month to month and others a full year. It’s ok to check out more than once place and look for reviews and feedback on their Facebook page or on the Better Business Bureau. 
I was part of a 24 hr chain facility and I ended up hating it and never going. There was no hot water, never any towels, equipment was a mess or broken, and the other members were condescending and obnoxious - a lot of people with the mentality that the entire facility was just for them. Then I was charged double one month and when I contacted them I was told it was for maintenance and upgrades, but I was given no heads up about it. I cancelled my membership there and now am part of a fitness center connected to our hospital. It’s still 24 hr but is staffed most of the time, is hospital level clean, has classes, the staff and other members are friendly and many are trying to combat an illness or rehab after an injury so they’re more humble and willing to help. There’s also a daycare room I can drop my son off at, which is a huge piece for me. I tried this place out while receiving physical therapy at the hospital and liked it, so I joined.
