On July 8th I had my first ultrasound. I should have been 8 weeks but the scan showed only a 5 week sac, no heartbeat. My doctor had me take 2 blood tests, a few days apart, which showed my HCG was still rising, although slowly. I went for another ultrasound 2 weeks later, which showed what I already assumed, that things were not progressing, and there had been no growth. I then took the pills to get things moving as I had had no bleeding other than a few spots and no cramping. Well that didn't work, so I had a D&C 2 days ago. This whole thing took just over 5 weeks from start to finish, i have definitely come to terms with it emotionally, and I am anxious to move on and try again (I'm 38). So I wanted to hear some experiences from people who have gone through this - should I try again right away? Should I wait for a cycle? 2 cycles?

I've had different doctors tell me different things. I've been told I'm more fertile now because my cervix is open and to go ahead. I've been told to wait til my cycle returns to normal. What should I do????
