Didn't make it from the tub to the bed (let alone the hospital!)
Full story: I had false labor 3 times over the past 3 weeks, lasting all night. On the 13th, the same contractions started at 5am (triggered by my toddler caressing my belly). Slept till 8am, when we started timing contractions. They started out with an average of 3.5mins intervals, 30secs long till 9:30. So we told the midwife. At 11:30 the pain got more intense, so we knew it was actual labor. Midwife came home to check dilation - I was only at 2cm. She said she'd come again at 3pm, but I insisted on a penicillin (GBS +) dose since previously I dilated pretty fast. I got a dose. Around 1pm I started losing my willpower. At 1:45 it got intense. Midwife called, and she came home at 2:15. Checked dilation was at 8cm. She said we have to go NOW. But then my water broke. Meconium in the fluid. She said, no time - if we go now, you'll be delivering in the car. Said best place would be the bed. Urge to push in the tub. Got one foot out, second push. Got to corridor - legs gave out (husband was holding me), third push in squat position. Midwife caught him (she was following me closely the whole time, ready to catch). Then he cried. We went to bed, and did breast crawl. Placenta delivered shortly. Time of birth 2:29pm.
