What to Expect at First OB Appt?

Hi ladies. This is my first time ever being pregnant so it’s all new to me. I got my first ultrasound at 8 weeks. We got a heartbeat of 145 bpm and the ultrasound tech said everything looked good! Now I have my first appointment with my OB at 10 weeks (which will be Tuesday). I don’t think I’ll be getting another ultrasound until 12 weeks but I’m not sure. Does anyone know what will happen at my first ob appointment? Thank you!!

They typically take blood to test for hcg levels, sometimes your thyroid levels, and a few other things. If you’re due for an exam or Pap smear, they’ll do that. I had one done because I hadn’t ever had it done before. With that I think they do an std panel just to be sure everything is good in that regard. You’ll leave a urine sample and they’ll take your vitals. You should get some information about WIC. My OB office gave me that, a generalized list of when to expect to ha e appointments and a general overview of what happens at each one, and maybe even some info for the local hospital where I’ll be delivering. 
Sorry, that’s not all necessarily in order. But it’s what happened with my first appointment. They’ll also have you give a family and personal health history if you haven’t already.
