What age for the beach?

What age do you think is okay for you to take you’re newborn baby to the beach? Without clothes, no hat, just a diaper and in the water. I just wanna know what everyone thinks.

I would say 6+ months. But why no clothes? Babies need to be covered. My son always wears a swim diaper, swim trunks, rash guard, hat and sunglasses.

Even after 1 my son will always have a long sleeve rashie and hat on. You can never be too safe especially if the day is super hot

You're not supposed to use sunscreen under 6 months, so obviously baby would have to be EXTREMELY covered prior to that (like clothed & under shade). & I agree with most commenters that even after that, babies/young children should be covered as much as possible (hat + swimwear that covers most of the body). Sun damage in early childhood is tightly linked to skin cancer!!

The baby has to be covered. You cannot just take them without clothing. I took my 6 month old to the beach and he had on swimming trunks, and a special swim shirt, under an umbrella as well. 
He’s 3 now. Still has a swim diaper, still has swimming trunks with special shirts and we still use the umbrella. 
I wouldn’t ever take a newborn to the beach. They cannot regulate their temperature and can become overheated even in the shade without clothes.

I wouldn’t bring a baby into beach water until 6 months atleast but definitely with swimsuit and hat to protect them from the sun and ideally a big umbrella to sit under.. as long as it’s not too hot I’d bring a 8+ week baby to the beach but not put them in the water.. too much risk for infection. And definitely have them completely covered from the sun

I brought my daughter starting around 3 months, but she would mostly sleep under a sun shade/umbrella thing. She loved it and still does!

Your baby should always be protected from direct sunlight (by more than just sunscreen).
