My husband and I had consistent unprotected sex throughout my fertile week last month in the effort to get pregnant. My expected period was to start on 8/14, but it didn’t come yet. I did have a strange symptom several days ago, feeling very nauseous and my mouth just got really wet (would have drooled a lot if I kept my mouth open or didn’t swallow).

I took two pregnancy tests at a clinic this morning and both were negative. I came back home and tried my only “first response” test that I’ve been saving and it also turned out to be negative. Then, after I wiped myself, I saw that there was a strange, pink and kind of gooey substance (almost like pink mixed with lots of egg white like cervical mucus) on the toilet paper! Thinking it was my period, I put in a tampon and then went on with my day.

After about four hours I pulled out my tampon to see that it was strangely very dry with just little bits of light brown stain. My period day 1 usually is very bright red and heavy flow, so it’s unusual. I then wore only a pad, and it’s been about 6 hours now and it’s completely clean, no trace of discharge or blood at all.

What is going on? It’s definitely not my period, right?

Is there a chance I’m actually pregnant?? Or was that pink gooey stuff a miscarriage? Or something else completely?

I am so confused. Any advice or help would be super appreciated!!!
