Perineaum massage?

Ladies,
Sorry for the request for detail. But I’m super scared of tearing and I just tried to massage my perineum with oil I bought but it felt pretty uncomfortable ? I don’t even know if I’m doing it right , do you put your fingers in or just massage the skin and sort of pull 😂🙈? Clueless 😂

I’m not keen but hoping it will be of benefit in the long run.
I find it less uncomfortable if my partner helps, it felt a bit odd at first having him help me but it was much more comfortable than me trying to reach 🙈😂

It will feel uncomfortable. Its stretching the skin. Just go gently to begin and keep up with it twice a week. Put your thumbs on the inside of your perinium and massage. Slowly begin to stretch and put pressure on the skin as if you are stretching out bread dough. Its easier to get a partner to do it i at all possible as it may be a difficult area to each, especially as the day gets closer

Any mamas with positive experience from doing the massage? I can’t decide if I’m willing to take the plunge but would do anything that’s likely to help make it easier and prevent tearing!
