What rules did you have for people visiting you and your newborn?

All I can think of is no kissing and wash your hands. 
My son got RSV at 6 weeks old and had to be hospitalized for nearly a week and I don’t wanna go through that again. 
I really don’t want my newborn son around 3rd hand smoke and there’s a lot of smokers in our families so if anyone has any rule ideas on that also comment them.

I didn’t need rules. Everyone came to the hospital and my home and immediately washed their hands. And no one was sick. If someone would’ve been then would’ve  ask them not to hold baby.

Don’t come over at all lmao 😂 don’t look don’t touch don’t breathe in their direction lol I’m momma bear to the max personally and I don’t care but if they insist and must come see the baby lol no perfume no smelling like smoke no kissing at all wash hands or hand sanitizer and throw one of babies blankets over you before you hold him

My baby due in 2 weeks And my personal list is such.
I’m picky and I’m sure I’ll think of more things lol 
 
* wash your hands and arms prior to touching/holding.
* no kissing / no breathing too close to his face
* no pictures of him without me knowing 
* no smoking / all smokers must change their top layer of clothing. 
* no random clothes/ cloths / blankets or comfort items before I wash and approve them.

We don’t have any smokers so I didn’t have that to cover.. our family all washed hands my only rule was as all lots of them work in schools/ nursery if there had been even A hint of a tummy bug even if they were fine they didn’t come x

I didn't and still don't allow anyone to hold my daughter. She's not a doll and I don't want her being passed around like one. (there are a few exceptions e.g. Grandmas and her uncle).

I asked that the smokers not smoke around baby and preferably not go out to smoke then come in and hold baby. Like at least give it a little time so the smell isn't so strong. I also asked that anyone who has any symptoms of being sick at all wait on seeing baby. Woke up with a little bit of a sore throat? Give it a few days and make sure you aren't sick and then come.
Other than that I was pretty laid back. I supervised all the interactions with baby and if someone was doing something really WTF I would step in.

For smokers, no smoking 30 minute prior to holding baby and you can give them a jacket to wear or something to mask any smell or toxins.

For smokers I said don’t smoke before you come, if you can’t handle not having a cigarette then your not allowed to see the baby.
