When can you take a bath after delivering?

How long after a vaginal delivery do you have to wait to soak in a bathtub? It isn’t in my discharge paperwork from the hospital and I can’t remember when I had my first how long it was.

I got up from birthing my babies and immediately went into the bathtub with them. I bathe daily postpartum in witch hazel, apple cider vinegar, Epsom salts and a variety of essential oils. It really helps the healing process. And my midwives are the ones drawing the bath so I know it’s safe. I don’t know anyone told not to bathe after vaginal birth. I did have to wait after my c-section but can’t even remember how long.

I always had the understanding that it was 6 weeks pp .. you don’t want to dissolve your stitches early (if you have them) talk to your doctor to be sure though

My doctor told me to wait until my 4 week appointment. He cleared me for baths and sex then, with both babies.
