16 weeks 4 days red spotting when wiping?

Hi, so last night when I went to the loo I wiped and noticed red blood not a lot just spotting but I freaked out and went to the hospital to get checked, the dr checked my cervix and said it’s closed and can’t see any blood around it. Also baby’s heartbeat got checked and was all absolutely fine. When I went to the loo at the hospital I wiped and nothing on the tissue. Was sent home feeling relaxed etc, back at home I have gone to the loo to find out I’m spotting again but more of it. Could it be from having my cervix checked do you think? Anyone had this happen to them? Thanks x
