Do early contractions feel like period cramps?

For the last few days I’ve been having cramps off and on. Mostly at night time. Are these contractions? My stomach does not get super tight like I’ve have with Braxton Hicks but it does get tighter.
Any ideas? Just wondering for peoples experience. Thanks. 35 weeks tomorrow btw

I’m having the same symptoms and I’m 37 weeks and 4 days. I don’t know if they are contractions either.

Yes. I started having these last week. Went to my weekly appointment on Thursday told my doctor about them and she hooked me up to the monitor and sure enough they are contractions. She didn’t plan to start checking my cervix until this upcoming week but went ahead and checked me after she seen them on the monitor.

I had something similar last week that would only really happen at night or later on in the day as well. I knew I wasn’t dehydrated since I’m home now all I do is drink water. I asked my doctor this week and she said that since it was cramping it definitely wasn’t BH but practice contractions. I’m 37+5 and have been getting them anytime throughout the day now. Keep drinking water though and if they worsen then go in to labor and delivery. 😊

I’m 35w3d I’m getting the same thing on and off but not consistent. I was told to keep an eye on them just in case they become regular and stronger.

They’re probably cramps from dehydration. You should lay down and drink water if you feel like this again. It happens to me too occasionally but I breastfeed my daughter, and I find laying down and drinking water makes them go away.
