*this is a sensitive subject. I am in no way judging anyone with an eating disorder, but would like to learn more*

My sister in law is known to have an eating disorder.. she has not been diagnosed but her health has declined over the last couple years.. she’s very frail, hair loss, always cold, and has a hate relationship with food. I never see her eat. She always claims to be full. She breastfeeds my 5 month old niece. She told me today that she weighs 10 pounds and is in the 2% for her weight for her age. She’s seriously a peanut. But I’m worried about her! (And my SIL of course.) she said her dr told her to supplement with formula or try rice cereal (which she’s refusing to do).. but I just wonder how an eating disorder has an affect on your breastmilk. If she is not getting proper nutrition, she is obviously not producing enough milk.. or maybe her milk is not of high enough fat content? She’s completely oblivious to this.. she thinks my niece is just small and it has nothing to do with her.. it makes me sad. I’m no doctor, so maybe she is just small?but I can’t help but wonder if there is something that needs to be said. Or how can I help ☹️
