Baby sleeping but I'm not!!?

Is anyone else suffering with their sleep since having a baby? My little boy is nearly 5 month's.. He sleeps better through the night sometimes waking once. Sometimes not waking till morning. My problem is he's sleeping and I'm struggling. Since having him sleep has gone to pot. I struggle to fall asleep. When I eventually do if I wake I then I can't get back to sleep. I so want my old sleep habits back.. anyone else had this?

I'm responding to you at 3:45 in the morning. Baby ate from 3-3:10 and here I sit. I feel like my body has gotten used to three hours of sleep, which is garbage because I'm exhausted. I think it's particularly bad the night after a bad night. Last night we were up essentially all night because baby had a snotty nose. I didn't really sleep until 6am and for about two hours. Tonight I was asleep at 9:30, up at 12:30 and 3 with the baby and now awake. It's like my body views five (interrupted) hours as a full night have getting two the night before. Also, my baby is a terrible sleeper and does wake up multiple times a night so I'm not sure there's àny hope at getting my sleep back. And I used to be great at it.

Oh my god this is me. Five nights in a row now that I have been unable to fall asleep for a good two hours after going to bed, then waking with every twitch of the baby. He wakes for a feed around 4 and I rarely get back to sleep. I feel like a zombie.

Yes!!!! I literally could not fall asleep last night. But my baby isn't sleeping either so I'm a wreck. 😂 It's that tired but wired issue, uggghhhh!

Before I was pregnant i had anxiety that was triggered by the fear of not getting enough sleep. So the adrenaline would keep me up and then my body would be exhausted while my mind raced 😫 and with the baby now I wake from every noise, I’ve always been a super light sleeper. I’ve found that wearing earplugs helps me relax! I can still hear enough to wake from the baby if he wakes up but the earplugs block enough of the sound that I hear my own breathing and it’s helped me so much to sleep longer stretches.

Same for me! My baby finally slept mainly through the night (one wake at 11) for the first time in 3 weeks and I woke at 5am and couldn’t get back to sleep at all. I’m still exhausted it sucks. My baby is having a 2 hour nap right now too and I can’t nap - just lay down and try to sleep but no go.
