Putting baby in her own room
With my first, I bedshared until 12 months.
I’m the helicopter mom type and I love to keep my babies next to me so I can assure they’re okay. Especially in the beginning. He never slept through the night. He’d wake every 2 hours. So I didn’t see a point in ever putting him in his room because he never slept long enough stretches. Well my second baby sleeps through the night and has since 2 weeks old. She’s now 3 1/2 months. I’ve read somewhere that after 4 months old that babies that co sleep begin to become affected by their sleeping environment more so they sleep better in their own room. So tonight is the first night and I put her down at 7 pm, she woke at 8 pm so I fed her and then put her back down instantly. No talking. Just nursing and I placed her down when she was done. She just woke up again at 1 am. I’m just so nervous and worried. My mommy instinct kicked in and I woke as she was shuffling before she even woke and cried. Has anyone put their babies in their own room this early? Or even at birth? I know the recommendation is to cosleep until 6 months. Not bedshare, just have them in your room for 6 months. Should I put her back in our room or leave her in her own room? We don’t see the pediatrician until 2 more weeks.
