Heavy Period or early miscarriage?

Hey,

My partner and I are TTC and my cycles average at 30 days, so my period was due this past weekend and It started almost on time with spotting on CD 31 which I thought nothing of because it’s normal to be a day or so late

I didn’t start cramping until I went from spotting to heavy bleed the day after that, and after I went shopping for about an hour I got home and I was in so much pain I couldn’t stand up. It didn’t feel like normal cramps (which for me are a little higher up and feel like a throbbing pain). Instead it felt like a hot knife twisting in the cervical area. It came in waves too like one second I was fine just sore, the next I was almost in tears curling into myself cause it was such a sharp pain.

The next day (now day 3 of bleeding) I’m passing clots about the size of a quarter and I can literally feel them come out...

I’m no stranger to passing clots, for years I was untreated for a hormone disorder that caused me to not ovulate so I’d experience breakthrough bleeding that was riddled with clots, but since starting my first medication (Bromocriptine) several months ago everything has been normal and regulated. This cycle is weird for my new normal so I’m just unsure of what to expect. Last thing I want is to go to my doc saying “early miscarriage” and be told “it’s just a heavy period”.

I did just recently start on another medication last cycle (levothyroxine) so I’m also wondering if maybe that caused this weird experience.
