Lovey/muslin blanket?

Question

I'm considering introducing a lovey after 6 months but I'm wondering what the safest options are out there. Anyone planning on using one or not planning to? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I let my daughter play with this when she nurses or is being rocked before bedtime and will probably let her sleep with it in a few months. 
I think it depends on the baby- my girl is very strong, active, and coordinated so I feel confident she won’t lay on it and suffocate herself but if you have any doubts I’d hold off or pick something thinner and more breathable. 
My mom gave me a silk slip she wasn’t using anymore when I was a baby so that’s a thinner option. It’s just embarrassing to bring it outside of the house 😂

My daughter has this one. I registered for it on amazon. It's by Aurora baby... SUPER soft. Weve been introducing it slowly and will be using it when we transition out her pacifier. It is a very thick material so we dont let her sleep with it yet but we let her play with it.

We use the Aden and Anais security blanket. It comes in a two pack and I bought it specially because my daughter loves to pull the blanket over her face. We also bought the Aden and Anais lovey that is breathable, as well!

My son has had one from like day one. He obviously didn’t get into until recently. And he doesn’t sleep with it in his crib or anything. Just plays with it especially in the car seat

I wont ler her sleep with anything until after a year. She can have stuff when awake. 
A girl my husband went to school with lost her almost year old a few years ago because of a blanket. It wasnt in the crib at the time but next to it. He was trying to grab it because it was his blankie and in the process got tangled in it. While dd2 can lift her head and I'm not really afraid of it going against her face it's the other hazards that come with it.

We have a little elephant lovey from Carter’s, he uses it when he’s in his car seat he has been since 3 or 4 months ☺️
