The Brother Project

Madison

To give this a little back story my husband, best friend and I have all been impacted by addiction. More specifically opioid addiction. My husband’s brother died of an opioid overdose in 2010. My friend’s brother died of an opioid overdose in 2017. My mother has been a heroin addict for close to a decade. It has shaped who we are as people now in many ways, but we decided we want to spread awareness that an addict may not always look like an addict. Addiction is private, and can’t always be seen from an outsiders perfective. Addition can look like anyone, and it can take anyone. We created The Brother Project. We are planning to launch it on 8/31 for overdose awareness day on Instagram and Facebook. It’s going to take shape as a social media movement to bridge the gap between society and the every day addict, inform the public on harm prevention safety, and raise awareness for the epidemic killing more American’s than car crashes every year. Please follow us on both social media platforms for portraits of past and present opioid addicts as well as close family of addicts, with a portion of a detailed interview to caption it.

If you or someone you know is a past or present opioid addict living in the DFW metroplex that would be willing to interview with us, please reach out to us on any social platform. Thank you!
