Anyone go back to school after kids (in your 30s)?

Long post ahead...

I’m 32... I’m a mom to a 18 month old boy and TTC #2. My husband and I have been talking about my job and our future. I have a real cushy job right now, I work 3 days, I take days off as needed, I leave or come in late whenever needed. It works well for us right now. However, in the next 10 years or so, that will change. Ownership of the company will change and I know that my job will no longer be so relaxed.

My husband is on his way to making really good money, enough money that eventually down the road I could stay home and we would be fine. I’m ok with staying home raising littles, but once they are in school full time, I feel as though I need to do something but don’t know how we would handle school vacations, snow days, summer vacations etc.

I’ve always wanted to be a teacher, but I never took the plunge. So Ive been talking about it again. I told my husband that it would allow me to be home during all of the vacations and breaks but still feeling as though im serving a purpose for my own well being as well as financially.

I currently hold no degree. I was a cosmetologist out of high school and when I feel out of love with that, I’ve just had office jobs.

I would be basically starting from scratch.

My plan is to take a class or two at a time since I have to still raise a family and work.

I figure it would take probably about 5 years she. All is said and done... so I would be probably 37 years old.

So if you’ve made it this far into this novel, I appreciate it .. and I ask you....

Is that too old to start a new career?
