Should I be upset ?

My 2 week old had his 2 week check up today. I got home and looked at the patient portal and saw his temp was 99.8. They say to go to the hospital if it’s 100.4. They didn’t say keep an eye on it or anything, am I over reacting?

They should have told you his vitals but 99 isn’t a fever and baby’s body temps need to be higher than ours they should be in the 98/99 range as anything below 97 is considered hyperthermia I only know this cause my baby always has a low body temp she’s always at 95/96 range so I have to dress her warmer to keep her temp up when I took her to the ER they had her under the panda warmer until her temp hit 99

Not a real concern, 99 is still considered normal, also the machine could be reading a little off. That's why they most likely didn't mention it.

I wouldn't say overreacting, but I wouldn't be worried. That's still pretty low to be considered normal. I would just keep an eye on it and see if it's getting worse.

I would definitely be calling them and asking why you wasn’t informed. My pedi says not to go to the ER until it reaches 104 but I don’t believe anyone should wait that long especially for a baby.

I don’t see anything you have to be upset about this is exactly why patient portals exist. Did you not ask in the appointment when they took the temperature hey what was it do I need to watch out for anything?

I don't think your overreacting. They should have communicated that directly to you. I would call them.
