I just went to get my nails done on Saturday. I did because I noticed my thumbnail was starting to break about halfway down the nail. I got gel polish in hopes for more support, and the nail tech thought the gel polish alone would be plenty to hold it. I caught my nail on the sink faucet earlier today and broke it further, just barely enough to start to detach it from the skin so it hurts now. It ripped through the gel polish. I added a couple layers of regular top coat, and ended up ripping through those too. Should I go back to the salon? Or do something at home?

Since it hurts now I’m assuming it’ll hurt like a bitch to soak off the polish! Is there something I can do (or the salon can do) without having to remove the polish?
