I’ve had 4 faint positives with clearblue but everyone says not to trust those so I took a pink dye and I see something but want your opinions. I also went and got a blood test done today. The doctor told me anything less than 50 is negative? If that’s the case then why does FRER pick up 6.5? Anyone had hcg less than 50 and was pregnant?

Answer

Anything over 5 is positive for pregnancy. Doctors follow a rule of 25 not 50 when it comes to testing because they use tests that are not sensitive enough and also that is the level a qualitative blood test tests for. Anything over 25 will produce a "Yes" result. A quantitative test measures the exact numbers. This is a faint positive but this test requires levels of 25 as well but has been known to pick up low levels like a FRER

Answer

With my first pregnancy my HCG was 32 at 3w3d (when I got my positive) and I was definitely pregnant
