Pacifier?

Question

What are your opinions on using a pacificer for your newborn baby???
I just started using it today with him being 5 days old and I'm not sure I like using it... i almost feel guilty and I'm in some weird mom feels ... idk if anyone else knows what I mean or if I'm just being too sensitive lol
Either way, just wondering what you ladies think

A paci while baby sleeps helps reduce sids. My son is 10 months and has used a paci since birth.

As long as you aren't using it in replace of food I think it's totally fine. Like if baby is crying because he's hungry and you stick a pacifer in his mouth to quite him that's not okay. I mean unless you have to make a bottle and need a few seconds of quite to do so 😂 
Don't feel bad though, they can be wonderful things if baby takes them! You are doing great mama 💕

Paci’s help reduce the risk of sids. Our 8 month old uses a paci now, but when he was first born my husband and I were extremely prideful and didn’t want him to use a paci and I now often wonder how many times that could have been used to comfort and soothe him instead of being on my boob all day long. I wasn’t a person for a long time because he needed to be on my boob 24/7 to feed and soothe. Next baby we’ll be smart and not prideful lol. I say go for it if you’re comfortable!

We used it cause my son took it. No guilt. If baby girl takes it then awesome, if not, I’ll figure it out lol. Winging it when the time comes. I don’t see a problem with using them. And my son came off of it easy. Same with bottles.

The paci was so nice while it lasted! Our son would sleep for like almost 3 hours at a time at night when he had his paci and it felt like heaven!! He was really good with one from the day we came home from the hospital till he was about 5 months old and just decided one day he didn’t want a paci anymore. I try to give him one sometimes now as an almost 8 month old and he just plays with it. I wish he would use it the right way sometimes so if your baby will take one id let them!

I started from day one, it helps her fall asleep but not absolutely necessary. We leave it in her crib so she only associates it with sleeping. She's EBF with no issues. I wouldn't worry too much, you do what you got to do until the pediatrician says differently!

I WISH my daughter would take to one it’s a rare occasion if she does. She’s almost 5 months.

We used it and had little problems weaning once she was 14-15 months. I believe that is the golden time when they won’t miss it too much and are easier to wean than later on but I only have one little one. I wasn’t going to use one but after we asked the lactation consultant about it it didn’t seem like a big deal. Maybe I’d feel differently if my daughter was hard to wean but she really wasn’t.
