Lighting fast birth of Tucker Ford ❤
So this may be long, I was half out of it throughout the ordeal so bare with me.
I woke up at 6 am to contractions every 10 minutes or so. They were pretty painful so I woke my husband and told him I "thought" I was in labor. He said ok and he was going to get up (yeah right). I went to the shower as I know the water helps and I planned on doing a little labor at home as I didnt want to go to the hospital just to be sent home. I had planned to have a water birth, no meds, I hired a doula, and wanted as natural of an experience as possible. While in the shower I texted my mom to let her know I was in labor and I didn't know how long it would be. She agreed to go into work and I was to call her if things speed up. Oh boy did they ever! It was about 715, I got out the shower bounced on my ball for until 730ish. My husband got up and we went downstairs into the living room while we waited for 800 to come when our girls could head to the bus stop for school. 800 came around, my husband sent the girls off to school, in the mean time I'm still fighting through contractions that were getting worse but I felt like it wasnt real labor for some reason 🤦♀️ I was all out of my mind. My husband jumps on the phone, calls our doula she heard me in the background moaning and told us to get to the hospital right away. My husband loads up the car, I get in we go off to the hospital. Now the entire ride I'm screaming woooahahahaha!!! Woah woah woah! 😂 I have GOT to sound like that song "what's new pussy cat woah ooo woah ooo woah woah woah" lmao... we finally arrive at the hospital I get out the van my husband runs and gets a wheel chair, I get in and he briskes me off to labor and delivery (1st floor awesome!). They buzz the door, we enter a triage room at 848 am, I'm screaming "woah" still and they try to put a iv in failed, they tried checking me (I refused every check during my pregnancy up until this point). So the first nurse tries and she's like "she's only a finger tip" they are looking at me in shaking pain, I tell them I feel pressure! They are like "well your not that dilated it's just the contractions" I'm like "yeah ok" in my mind saying it's going to be a long day and I dont know if I can make it without pain meds 😥. So I get another contraction and my water breaks!! I'm like, oh the shits about to hit the fan now! I look at my husband and I said "this isn't good, the pain is about to get worse". They suddenly brisk me off to another room I'm still screaming "woah" all the way down the hallway, we get to the room and by this point the contractions are unbearable! I'm really shaking now I feel like I had to push, they're trying to move me to the permanent bed that is in the new room but my body is overwhelmed with pain, I'm slapping hands away in my devil voice "dont TOUCH ME" this nurse was trying to fix the monitor on my stomach as the baby's heart beat was dropping, but she was shoving it!! I said " if you dont stop touching this motherfucking thing on my stomach, I'm ripping it off!!!" Yeah guys it was getting serious dont worry I apologized later. That's when my doula came flying into the room, she grabbed my face and looked me in my eyes and was like "YOU LISTEN TO ME, you are going to get onto that bed, on all fours on the count of three" 1, 2, and 3. I was over in the next bed on all fours like an animal, they still didnt believe me, but I'm like "the babys coming!" The nurse is like "ok let me check you", ha! I'm having contractions and I have no choice, I'm bearing down, grunting, and next thing you know im like "hes crowning!!" No Dr. In sight everyone except my doula and 1 head nurse was panicked. This isn't how this was supposed to go.... I push next thing you know his head was put, I had to pause because his cord was around his neck quite a few times, they unwrapped it, I'm still screaming, I thought it was almost done but nope! One shoulder, two shoulder! Ouuuchhh!! Then last push! And he was out!! Oh sweet relief! I laid on my back and we welcomed our sweet baby boy Tucker to our family at 910 am! My husband was shocked, he said he cried (I didnt see it 😄) and he was able to cut the cord.
"Finger tip" to delivered in 22 minutes! Everyone was like WTF just happened 🤣 still traumatized, I cant believe it went THAT fast, I had no idea I'd be giving birth that morning, I doubted myself so much that I was in denial. Babys doing great, nursing like a champ and is cute as can be. Sorry for the long story!! Thanks for reading this far!
