Blighted ovum or too early to see?
Went in for an unscheduled ultrasound today (6 weeks 5 days) due to some pink spotting I noticed in the afternoon. All we saw on the scan was an empty sac, no fetus, no yolk. The technician basically said it doesn't look good and it's probably a blighted ovum.
When we spoke to the doctor, she told us that it's just too early to tell and we shouldn't lose hope and we can do another ultrasound in two weeks to see if there's a fetus in there. Blood work they did today will hopefully shed more light when we get the results.
Have any of you experienced this? How did it turn out?
