What is my cervix up to?!

I’ve been expecting my period for a few days now so I’ve been checking my cervix daily. Yesterday, it was in the middle (not high or low) and slightly open, so I thought I was definitely about to start. Today, it’s so high that I can barely even reach it. What could be going on?!
