Any NICU mommas here?! My baby was in the NICU for 13 days and I keep randomly having breakdowns because everything we didn’t get to do and missing things.. any others like that or am I just crazy?! 😭😭

My baby was in the NICU for only 3 days, but it still makes me sad not being able to hold him as soon as he was born, not having skin to skin contact and not being able to nurse him during those days.

Yes.  Makes me sad we didn’t get to have the calming time as a family in our room and our family didn’t get to come visit in that environment.  Or when I see pictures of other mama’s with their babies in the room with them... I think it’s normal but I try to remind myself that it could have been worse and someone always has it worse off and maybe didn’t get to bring their baby home.  Hang in there and enjoy the moments you have now! Hugs!

I cannot imagine the difficulty all I can offer as a NICU nurse is try to look at it differently. You missed your first moments so that they could be healthy so you enjoy many memories as they grow.

My son was. I still feel sick everyday thinking about it. I feel like sometimes I am such a helicopter mom because of everything he went through!

Yes! I sometimes become teary-eyed because I didn’t get to have skin to skin contact with my baby immediately after birth. It makes me sad.
