cephalohematoma đŸ˜©

I had my daughter on August 8th by c section, during my surgery I remember hearing my doctor say she was still high up but I couldn’t see anything because I was covered by that blue sheet.. A few hours after she was born I noticed a bump on her head the paediatrician said that it would get hard then go away on its own within 7 days.. I was released home after two days. My daughter is now 1 week & 6 days old and the bump is still there.. Hasn’t hardened. I looked it up online and im almost 100% sure it’s a cephalohematoma.. I also read it happens from a birth injury. With tools being used to assist such as a vacuum or forceps.. HOW could my daughter possibly have a cephalohematoma from a c section delivery 😭 Has any other c section moms experienced this??

My son had one to when he was born via c-section. I think it took about a month before his completely went away. It did t seem to bother him. Just give it a little time. Ask the dr again at baby’s next appointment.

My daughter had a totally weird shaped head after my c-section. For a loooong time too. It’s now finally normal and round, she’s almost 1.

My daughter had a caput when she was born! That’s a small bubble filled with fluid that forms when the head is pushing for too long against the pelvis or when the head is stuck too long in the same position. I personally didn’t notice it but I found out about it when I got the birth records. No doctor ever told me that she had it. A cephalohematoma would mean there’s blood instead of some benign fluid and idk but did the pediatrician confirm that it is what you think it is? I’d definitely go back and demand a proper explanation! Sometimes doctors don’t tell the patient what a baby might have to avoid lawsuits or getting in trouble!

Actually I just read that a complication of a cephalohematoma is hardening of the blood 👀 weird... I would definitely go to her pediatrician again and the hospital where you delivered as well!

The paediatrician did not say “cephalohematoma” but he did say it was pooled blood that would harden & go away on its own within 7 days. Which would definitely be a cephalohematoma.. Not to mention that once I was okay’d to remove the bandage over my c section I noticed one side had been properly closed while the other was noticeably different. I could tell it wasn’t just my doctor who did the staples.. It looked like an amateur did one side. I mentioned it to my mom and she told me to demand an explanation at my follow up appointment with him in 6 weeks. My daughter has an appointment with another doctor on the 29th. Once I have confirmation it’s what I believe it is I’ll be asking for all of the records regarding her birth.. Im honestly upset.. This is my second c section delivery and it’s NOTHING like my first. I don’t understand how my daughter could possibly have this from a c section.. What tools could you possibly have to use when you have complete access into my uterus 😭
