Sharp shooting breast pain-worried

Clarissa

LONG POST sorry. I keep getting these sharp shooting pains in my right breast. It happens a lot, I would say at least 3 or more times a week. Sometimes on and off throughout an entire day. I started getting pains when I had thrush breastfeeding my son when he was about 3 months old, he's 2 yrs old now and I stopped breastfeeding over a year ago. When the thrush was gone I didnt really notice anymore pain while feeding him or anything. The pains started happening again more frequently the beginning of the year or that's when I started noticing it was happening quite often. The pain is so severe sometimes that Iiterally out of instinct grab my boob and wince. Sometimes it's one shooting pain and it's not too bad, sometimes its multiple shooting pains one right after the other lasting for a few minutes sometimes longer. It happens whether I am wearing a bra or no bra, tight shirts or loose shirts. It just happens randomly out of nowhere. I remember getting pains on and off growing up but it happened once in a blue moon and now its likes a few times a week at least and it really hurts. It's starting to worry me because I'm already a paranoid person but breast cancer does run in my family. My last 2 yearly check ups (before noticing any frequent pain) my ob did breast exams and said that he didnt feel anything abnormal and he was aware of my family history. My aunts who have had cancer were all in their 40s when they got it. I'm 25 and I'm honestlyscared. I have no insurance and we hit a rough patch financially and literally couldn't afford a regular dr. Appt let alone appt. For something serious without going into debt. my health is/should be top priority I know, but I'm wondering if maybe it could be something other than cancer? If I'm worried about it being that would my ob be who I would set up an appt with? Thanks to those who read this whole post and reply 😜
