No, I have one myself. Redness and a little bit of swelling and tenderness is common, but the pus and white stuff around it means it’s infected or your body is rejecting the metal. Try to not touch it, clean regularly, and use a sea salt soak. The most important tho is do not touch it at all, unless cleaning

infected do home sea salt soak ... take a shot glass heat in the microwave with seasalt until as hot as you can take it flip it on your belly and lay down

I had this, mine is fine now. Get NON IODIZED salt at the store and make a salt soak solution. I used a medicine cup to hold the water on there. It burned but it helped. Or saline solution( pretty much what the salt soak is just more potent) NEVER use alcohol or peroxide it drys it out
