Did you pay for an early private scan?

Question

I’m almost 7 weeks pregnant and am debating whether to buy a private scan to see my bean! I feel nervous that I’m plodding along thinking it’s going well and I’ve had no concrete proof! My hubby says there’s a reason the nhs wait until 12 weeks - in that even if everything is A ok at 8 weeks, something (hopefully not!!) could happen at 9 weeks. 
Who paid for an early scan?

I got a private scan at 8 weeks. Wasn’t planning to but I just couldn’t stop thinking of all of the what ifs. Was great to have the peace of mind x

I couldn’t wait, I had a scan at 7 weeks best £40 I’ve spent, seeing the heartbeat massively put my mind at ease. I’m due for a c section 2 weeks today. Good luck with everything 💕 x

We couldn’t wait. My first pregnancy ended in a missed miscarriage. We went to our 12 week scan and there was nothing in there.

I had a private scan at 8 weeks all was fine saw a happy healthy little baby went for my 12 week scan and baby had no heartbeat, I would just wait for your 12 week scan, X

I had one at 10 weeks, personally I wouldn’t go at 7 because you could have the dates slightly wrong and it could be just a bit too early, like I thought I was 8.5 weeks and turned out I was 10. If you go at 7 there really might be not much to see etc x

I did for both this pregnancy and my daughter as 1st pregnancy ended in a missed miscarriage so I just needed peace of mind. Midwife did say to not get one done until 10 weeks as this is when miscarriage risk falls the most xx

I did it, miscarriage in January, wanted peace of mind. Dated 8weeks and saw the little bean. Absolutely worth it.  
I went to a place called Window into the Womb, they’re scattered all over the place, honestly-looked a little ominous from the outside but stuck with it and it turned out really nice and lovely team. Would definitely do it again. Good luck! X

I had an early reassurance scan at 7 weeks because i had a previous misscarriage. Honestly it was amazing, made me feel a lot better to see the heartbeat but I didn’t get excited at the same time just incase, luckily all is good and I’m currently 31 weeks! X

I’m waiting for 12 weeks. I couldn’t bear getting all excited to find out at 12 weeks it wasn’t a viable pregnancy. Good luck hun. Also do what’s right for you

I've had multiple miscarriages and I just wanted peace of mind. He was worried about the price and honestly I didn't want some fancy private scan I just wanted something very basic just to reassure me my baby was okay, there was also a little confusion over how far along I was. Luckily my maternity unit offered NHS private scans for around half the price that most private companies like babybond charge, so he was happier to pay less and I got to see my baby 😁
