ICSI OR Not Needed?

Question

So my doc recommended we did ivf next cycle if this iui doesn’t work. Hubby has great swimmers but I have low AMH if .65. She said we wouldn’t need ICSI and we would do a fresh transfer. Success stories? Advice? 🙏

ICSI is only really needed if there is an issue with sperm count, motility or morphology. I suppose you could ask about having it to increase fertilisation rate. I hope this helps.

My doc recommends ICSI if you have a diminished ovarian reserve (what your AMH measures) because you'll likely have less eggs retrieved and wants to make sure each one has the best possible shot.

My husband has low count so we did ICSI. Glad we did cause we have 12 frozen day 5’ers now.

We did ICSI even though we had no sperm issues, didn’t want to leave anything to chance. We got 4 embryos. Froze 3 and we did a fresh transfer, worked first time ✌🏽 good luck 🍀

Our clinic just includes icsi no matter what so that you have the best results. We go to CNY.

We have written in our contract that if ANYTHING comes back on retrieval day that is abnormal in my husbands sperm then they will switch to icsi.

We had to do ICSI as my hubby has very low morphology and motility. If your husband’s sperm is good there is probably no need to use it! Good luck x
