Oversupply
Everyone I talked to says this isn’t a problem, but I want some real talk about oversupply. I feel like I’m drowning in breast milk!
I’m a working mom so I started back to work with a reserve of frozen milk, but I thought this would just be maintained or shrink once I returned to work...nope! I’m still producing twice what my baby eats while I’m away. At this point I have about 250 oz of frozen milk and when I pump I have to be vigilant on time to not have too much. I tried removing a session while at work but I got too engorged and uncomfortable.
Help! What do I do? I looked into donating, but they have a whole screening process and their own collection containers, I can’t just give them my bags of frozen milk. I know I like the reserve, maybe I should just keep storing and ween sooner? Or should I try to sell some supply off?
I know I’m very fortunate and I’m not trying to complain about having a strong supply, but I just don’t know how sustainable this situation is. Anyone else have this issue? What did you do?
