Do I need Diaper Cream for everyday?

I am having a baby girl and am a FTM. I know baby powder is a nogo (at least until theres a rash and dont poof it on directly) but what about diaper cream? Does that go on with every change? Does it matter for boys vs girls? And is it just regular butt paste or what?

No I only use it when she has a sore bum or rash. I use desitin

We use Boudreaux butt paste with aloe (green box/tube). Our pediatrician actually said it’s not a bad idea to use it every diaper change. She said that especially at night when they’re in a diaper longer you should use a good layer to protect their little bums.

Buy something called "Butt Paste" red box in a tube... you're welcome lol this stuff is amazing... to answer your question no not every day you only need it when baby has any kind of redness

I have found that Aquafor works best for my daughter and I only put it on when she looks sore.

I found triple paste to work the best. I don’t use it every day, only when she looks like she’s starting to get red. A trick I found that really helps prevent it is after you wipe, put her diaper under her but don’t put it on right away. Let the skin air dry for a few min. Really really helps.

I have used yellow Boudreaux’s Butt Paste after every poop and as needed for redness since my son was born. He is now nearly three. We’ll continue to do that until he is potty trained.

I use vasaline every diaper change. Creates a good protection layer . Have yet to use and creme her butt is doing great.. only been 9 days but still lol

For my daughter (3 now) I used buttpaste, but only when she looked sore, red, or had a rash. She rarely got a rash, but would sometimes get a “red bum”, especially after we started solid food. All kids are different though, my nephews had super sensitive skin and we needed to to put diaper cream on with nearly every change. I used coconut oil to moisturize for diaper changes that didn’t need buttpaste and I thought it was great, but I know some people don’t like coconut oil.
