November 12, 2018 my whole world came crashing down when on vacation for my birthday (November 11th) and I am woken up by super fast intense contractions that prevented me from rolling over. I was trying to get my boyfriends attention when I thought my water broke. I jumped up to see blood everywhere. I ran to the bathroom to stand in the tub while trying to figure out what to do. While I’m standing there, I thought I was having my baby girl at 35 weeks. It was only blood clots though.

My boyfriend calls 911 while I feel the sudden need to go to the bathroom. I didn’t manage to do anything before I passed out, fell off the toilet and hit my head on the door. The paramedics show up but where we were in North Carolina, the only hospital near by didn’t have a labor and delivery so I went by ambulance over 30 minutes away.

Right after arriving, they hooked me up to monitors to check on the baby. The nurse kept moving it around but wasn’t able to find her heartbeat. She called the doctor in who told me there was no heartbeat before my boyfriend and son could even make it into me. We found out after having her, that it was all due to placental abruption. Being 6 hours away from home, 2 states away, I had to deliver my baby girl with no family there and make the decision within minutes of having her to have her cremated to cross state lines with her. It was so earth shattering.

I got 5 and a half hours to hold my beautiful baby before the funeral home took her away. We left the hospital the next day, and picked her ashes up and everything happening so fast, it sent me into pure mental torture for the next 9 months wanting nothing more than to be pregnant again and to have my daughter with me. My boyfriend was not on board at first, but he relentlessly agreed and we started trying about 5 months ago.

I was becoming more and more antsy about becoming pregnant, so we tried preseed. I was scared to use it at first, so I didn’t use it while doing the deed...instead, I waited until after the deed was done to put a little inside my menstrual cup and place it inside (sorry if TMI) But, when my period was late by 1 day, then 2, and 3...I finally took a test last night to get 2 beautiful bright lines. I’m scared, nervous, and excited all at the same time but I’m terrified to have joy. Just since last night, I’ve been trying to forget that I’m pregnant.

I don’t know if the preseed did it, but I’ve had a hard time conceiving all of my babies (7 years in between 1 & 2, and I lost baby #2) but I strongly believe it had a huge role.

By calculations, I am 4 weeks, 4 days and due April 29th. Has anyone else become pregnant after placental abruption and it been successful? Including pictures of my daughter. Thanks to anyone to takes the time to read all of this. It’s extremely difficult.
