Coffee before anatomy scan?

20 week anatomy scan tomorrow morning and don’t know if I should a coffee before the scan or not? Do I want my girl to be moving around for the scan or not?

No caffeine! You don’t want her to move too much. The whole point of the scan is to get a really good look at her organs and get measurements, all to make sure everything is working properly and to rule out abnormalities. If she is moving too much, you won’t achieve that.
She will probably be moving enough without the coffee!

You don't want them moving much. I have to go back on the 19th because they had a hard time seeing some spots in the heart, the kidneys, and the feet because she was moving so much. I didn't have anything but water beforehand.

I had coffee this morning on my way in and my baby didn’t move much at all. The tech said seems they either move a ton or not much. I don’t think it will make any difference so enjoy that morning coffee!

I'm not gonna lie. I chugged down an iced coffee before mine. Lol. But I needed it or I would have fell asleep 🤣 The doctor was able to get everything he needed without a problem though. Even got to see her trying to grab onto the umbilical cord 💕

I’d say no. They had a hard time getting all the measurements needed at my last ultrasound because babe kept moving TOO much.
