How do you care for yourself and a newborn when home alone? 🙃

Probably TMI, but honestly I've had the worst diarrhea of my life since last night.  My stomach was killing me and gurgling for a while.  Got to the bathroom, and just pure liquid.  Husband is at work, my mom is babysitting for my step-sister, and no one else nearby I can call and ask for help.  Baby girl is cluster feeding like crazy (2 weeks old today). She managed about a 3 hour stretch of sleep last night, but I couldn't sleep because of running to the bathroom.  Still running to the bathroom this morning.  My mom recommended depends in case I need to go while feeding my little one.  
Currently feeding on my right breast, pumping on my left, and trying to not crap my panta.  But seriously, how do you ladies manage to fit taking care of yourself in early postpartum days?

Its more taking care of the baby and if you find yourself 5 minutes you just do the basics 😂 I used to just bring him to the bathroom with me, I still do this now as he's 5 months and a cat napper, I just take him from room to room with me, he comes to the bathroom when I need a bath, the bedroom when I need to get ready and in the garden when I'm letting my pets out 😂

Keep expectations super low, and multitask baby stuff with your stuff. As in, a daily shower alone would be great but I’ll get in the bath and wash my hair when bathing baby. When you do have another adult around, hand off the baby and get yourself set up for the time alone - place full water glasses around the house, prep food so it’s ready to grab and eat one- handed, and generally put whatever you need in easy reach of where you’ll be. 
Online ordering and home delivery are also wonderful inventions I’ve leaned on more heavily since my third trimester. Don’t go out if you don’t have to or want to. Although, taking care of your mind (not going stir-crazy from being “trapped” at home) is also important, so consider streaming podcasts while you play with baby, reading books while baby naps on you, or doing outings to the library or other easy places to keep you motivated to get through the day. Consider what you can do without. For example, I no longer blow dry my hair and rarely wear makeup. ANd my workouts aren’t an hour at the gym, or alone: they’re with the stroller or a few minutes here and there while at the change table. 
Invite neighbors and other local mommas over if you like. They’ll enjoy holding and playing with baby, and won’t care what you or your house looks like. Meanwhile, you get some social time and maybe a break. 
Here’s hoping you feel better soon. If all you do today is shuffle from bedroom to bathroom to fridge, you’re doing great.

I do everything while he's taking a nap or if he's up, I sit him up in his bouncer or lay him in his bassinet so he won't move around anywhere.

I don’t think you really can take care of yourself 😫 really you’re going through hell 😆 but it will get easier and it’s unfortunate you’re poorly. My baby is 4 months next week and I feel absolutely disgusting still with no time to get the house straight or myself straight! But I know it gets better as I have older children. Keep going Mama x

Hun you need liquids. You need someone to bring you Gatorade or coconut water. You could literally die of dehydration caused by lactating and diarrhea.

Mine stayed up with our baby from 8pm -5am while I slept then went to work.
