Basal body temp while ovulating

So I just checked my basal body temp for the first time ever and it read 98.6... somebody help and explain to me. Does this mean I’m ovulating right now?? or have I already passed it??? With my period log on here it says I’m ovulating right now but idk how basal body temp works. My CM has never had an “egg white consistency” help please.
