What does labour feel like?!

What exactly did labour feel like for you? I’m almost 39 weeks and I’d really like to know what to expect because I’ve had a lot of Braxton Hicks and I just wanna know how to tell the difference.

Real contractions can take your breath away and they are difficult to talk through. They do not go away if you get up and walk or drink a glass of water.

It felt like I was being ripped inside out.. the most unbearable pain I've ever been in.. it was worth it in the end.. but if the did epidurals with a sword.. I still would have gotten it.

Well my labor started with back contractions. I also had a lot of Braxton Hicks so I at first thought that, that's what it was... I laid down that night and they started. I remember trying to sleep but I got no sleep that night. Like every few mins the pains would wake me up because they would be at their worst. I guess those were the contractions. I actually lasted like that all night until morning. I was still have back pain but noticed that it has started to also be in my belly area, like cramps. They would come and go but not go away, so I decided to go to labor and delivery guessing that they can check me and worst they can do is send me home like other times....but this time did feel different..... I kept having the pains in the car, and that was really uncomfortable because I couldn't move a lot...Well by the time I got to the hospital I couldn't even walk when the pain came I was like don't unless over and had to stay in place until the pain passed, then of course came back and so on. Well my water broke walking down the hall after like a few times of doubling over in pain. They checked me and I was 4 cm, didn't take long to get to 5 after being checked the first time. 
The pains felt like a tightening and sharp pain that wouldn't go away.
