No 11 week sono?

Hello! Just curious if anyone else is not getting a second sono at 11-12 weeks? I had my first today at 7 weeks but they said my next won’t be until I’m 20 weeks...and my gender will be through blood test :/ anyone else? Thanks!

You get a scan between 11-14 weeks if you want nuchal translucency scan to check for Down syndrome and other chromosome disorders. You don’t have to be high risk for this. It’s a screening scan

One dating ultrasound and one anatomy scan is normal. Unless you’re high risk there is no reason to have more than those 2.

My Dr always asks “you wanna look or listen today?” So each appt I get a choice of ultrasound or Doppler.

Where I live it in Canada it is standard of care to do three ultrasounds: 8wks, 12wks, and 20 wks.

You usually only get a dating one at beginning and then 20 week on unless your high risk

I had my 1st one yesterday at 8 weeks. They had me schedule another one for 12 weeks but only because my right ovary is very enlarged and covered with cysts.

I am still waiting for next appointment so far I am scheduled for one tomorrow and one at 11-13 weeks. Are you getting NIPT testing? I was going to ask for it because I am over 35 and am covered for it. Not sure what that will do to later scan yet because purpose is the same for both I believe. Then again I was told only one at 11-13 weeks then suddenly they want me to have one this week even though numbers were good so .... I don’t know🤨. Just want my old doc back because this covering one I don’t like
