Is regular water based lube alright?

I've seen a lot about preseed. I have been using regular water-based lubes from the pharmacy. Are they hindering our ability to conceive? Or are they fine?

we used water based for over a year, then tried silicon based for 6 months with no luck. Tried preseed and it worked first time, unfortunatly had a chemical due to a car accident around implantation time which i think stopped everything settling properly. 2 months later, with preseed again i got my bfp and at 12 wks now :-) I would highly recommend it

Just buy preseed, I believe it works! It's about $20, but in the grand scheme of things, if you're trying to have a baby, you shouldn't be worried about cost. 😊

Ask you doctor about preseed first. I've read some women's docs advise against it because it helps weak sperm get to the egg when natural selection would've eliminated them and can cause complications.

You need to look at the container it's in. If it doesn't specifically say "For couples trying to conceive" then yes it's probably hindering things. Don't use saliva either. Preseed is expensive but I've heard great things. We used organic coconut oil because it is safe and I happened to have some. Other brands make Soren friendly lubes but they are hard to find in stores. I found a decent price on the astroglide brand for TTC on Amazon but we conceived first month we tried so I didn't buy any.
