??? What is this

My period is expected in 4 days. Usullay my period is spot on. I wore a pad today, I wasn’t doing much and I’ve been having mild cramping alll day! I went to the bathroom and saw this brownish stuff. Could this be spotting??? I have never had this before. I’m 21.
