Do you have severe allergies? If so, would you take SLIT?

Question

SLIT is an allergen immunotherapy. Basically it’s a small allergy drop that you take by placing it under your tongue.
The reason I ask if because the medication is 100% out of pocket and cost over $200 per month. And you must commit to doing it consecutively over the course 1-2 years. Studies show that eventually, the allergy will be either not noticeable or gone completely. But no guarantees.

I couldn’t afford $200 a month for 2 years. I’d love to do something for my allergies cause I’m allergic to so much shit and most of my life is spent with me being miserable but $200 a month isn’t something I could afford.

Maybe, but knowing me, I will probably be allergic to the medicine. I took an allergy test at the dermatologist. I couldn't finish it because it turned my back blue, black, purple, and green. It burned and itched like hell, too. They said I'm allergic to over 2,000 things, and they couldn't give me any of their recommended allergy medicine because they couldn't finish the test.

Is it just for pollen? I would happily rid myself of latex and cinnamon oil allergies. No questions asked. 
Then I could eat fireballs, in a room with those scented pinecones, and play with all the balloons!
(Or at least not dodge every balloon apologetically at every birthday party/restaurant/fair/market. I could also shop in regular stores in October, November, and December without my throat closing)

Well, I have a very very severe nut allergy, but I wouldn’t do it, because I’m poor, and I need as much money as I can get at the moment. Yeah, I could die from this, but I can’t afford it.
