Ovary pain?

Sometimes I get this pain either on my left or right side before and during my period and some at times it’ll hurt so bad to where I have to slowly sit down. Like this month it’s my left side that is hurting and it feels like a dull/sharp pain...but once my period is completely over it’s gone...does anyone else go through this or has ever had this? I remember a couple years ago my doctors had me do a CT scan and saw that I had a cyst or 2 so maybe that’s it? What else could it be?
