Where should LO sleep?

Question

I nurse my son on a boppy and he normally falls asleep after feeding and I just want to keep him close to me and fall asleep as well. I know that he sleeps better and longer on top of me as opposed to in his bassinet, and I know that I would actually be able to get sleep since I haven't since before LO's birth. My boyfriend doesn't want me to sleep with him because he's worried about SIDS. What should I do?

If your baby will sleep in a bassinet, do it! Right by the bed is perfect. Once we took the napper bed out of her bassinet in pack n play she only sleeps on me. I would LOVE to stretch out and toss around but can't with my LO stuck to my chest/tummy.

Safe sleeping really recommends against co-sleeping. For his best safety he should be in a bassinet next to the bed or a crib with only a fitted sheet. No blankets, pillows, stuffed animals. Once they can roll themselves over guidelines change but they're just too vulnerable when they're little!
