“Better grab your makeup bag”

We have to pick up my 5 year old step daughter from her mother this afternoon. My older step daughter usually steps out to get her but she’s in school today so it will be me getting her. My husband asked if I would get down and get her and so I said yes. He looks at me and proceeds to tell me “well you better get your makeup bag” like what the literal hellll!! I proceeded to tell him I’m not trying to impress his baby momma that she can kiss my ass. He just started laughing but I found this very insulting. Like he’s ashamed that I’m not all dolled up.
