🌀Does Pressure Drop Cause Labor?🌀

Question

Any moms out there have any experience with strong storms (hurricanes) putting them in labor? I live near the cone of bullshit, I mean possibility, for Hurricane Dorian🌀 and worried about the low pressure putting me into labor. It’s my second and I’ll be 38+3 when it hits land (Tuesday) I was dilated to 1cm as of yesterday (Thursday) so I’m hoping I don’t need to be concerned about it but I’m curious to hear from moms with experience!

It’s a similar wives tail to that of a full moon. I was talking to my mom who is a nurse for OB and she was laughing telling me she saw more women during a full moon than a storm but you never know. I do feel you on this though, I’m freaking out. My husband left for work, I’m alone with my toddler, the hurricane is coming in and my contractions have picked up all day... i need baby girl to stay out until my husband gets back

I feel like it’s more the stress associated to such events with would induce labour?!

I've read that the barometric pressure drop really does cause it, but can't find a ton of details. I'll be 36 weeks on Tuesday and we're on the west coast of FL so not expecting it to be as bad, but still hoping this isn't true! Good luck girls 💜

Ummm my cousin in law (related thru marriage) was in NC when the strong storm/hurricane hit last year and she went into labor early during it. So maybe? 🤷🏼‍♀️
