How long should you wait to get engaged?

How soon is it to get engaged  or how long do you think it's ok to get engaged?  
He's 35 I'm 27.

There’s no set time limit, just got to base it on when you feel your ready! 
Personally, now that me and my boyfriend are living together in our own place, we’ve been on holiday together, we know each other’s family and friends... we’re on the right track, to get engaged at some point.
