Cervical checks? Baby's size?

Question

When will they start cervical checks? I'm 35 weeks and have an appt next week at 36. Also, how do some of you know the estimated weight of baby? I haven't had an US since 28 weeks for a hematoma. Are they just guessing by feeling or what? Thanks!

Wednesday, I’ll be 36 weeks and I’m getting my group b strep swab and my first cervical check.. I’m due October 2nd and worried baby girl is gonna be here sooner rather than later.

My doctor doesn’t check until I’m in labour! I guess it’s kind of pointless to check beforehand 🤷🏻‍♀️

My doctor is checking me starting at 36 weeks and then that will be weekly until my induction.

They may check you if you’re showing signs of dilation or wait one more week. With my first my doctor almost didn’t check me at 36 weeks 4 days but good thing she did because I was 4 cm, fully effaced, with a bulging bag of waters. I had no signs of labor but went to the hospital. I didn’t progress in the hospital but the next week I got checked again and was 7cm (no timetable contractions) and she told me I’m having this baby today. So now with my son, My next appointment I’ll be 35 weeks my doctor will check because of how my first pregnancy went

they usually start cervix checks at 36 weeks every week up until baby comes. also, they should give you another ultrasound for that hematoma. ive had it twice and know it can cause some issues. not to scare you or anything but maybe mention it at your next appointment ☺️

My OB told me she would do a membrane sweep at 38 weeks since I’m planning on a TOLAC (vbac). Because of my previous c-section she’s not worried about getting things started early, fingers crossed it works! I got an ultrasound at 28 weeks and she wouldn’t give an estimate but I’m measuring about a week behind so I’m thinking he’s small.

They measure baby in the ultrasound and it gives you a estimated weight for baby but it can be wrong by +2 or -2 lbs and if you don’t need ultrasounds that’s a good thing they only do them at the end usually if there is cause for concern I had 32scans with my last bcz of my oldest is missing half his heart and baby wasn’t growing much and needed to be taken out at 37wks after two weeks of no growth and than this one I’ve only had one in the er @2wks one @9wks to confirm pregnancy one @20wks for anatomy and to confirm girl and a growth due to all my weight loss @30wks and a fetal echo @31wks to confirm no heart defect and starting @34wks I will have a scan possibly 2 scans every week until they decide to deliver which will be no later than 38wks so I now have only 4-6wks left instead of 8wks

at 36 weeks i was told i would get an order for blood work and the strep b test. beyond that cervical checks will only be done if i am having alot of contractions or reason to believe labor is starting.  i also have no more scheduked ultrasounds so have no idea where i am at regarding baby weight. at 28 weeks he was weighing 3.5 lbs and i only know because i had a 3d ultrasound done at that point. when i asked my doctor how will we know if baby was breeched or not he was able to feel on my abdomen and pelvic annd tell me he was head down. some doctors order ultrasounds all the time and some are a bit old school i guess.
